Line Prophet 98 Twin Tip Skis 2012: Remember the well loved Prophet 100? Well it is gone, replaced by the all new Prophet 98. The changed to 98mm along with the name but the Prophet 98 managed to become an even better all-arounder. Keeping the Maple Macroblock Core topped by a Metal Matrix the Prophet 98 starts with a powerful, lively framework. It also held onto the P-Cut geometry, originally developed for the Prophet series, for precision turn initiation at all speeds. To up the edge hold Line developed their new Capwall construction, placing a slim sidewall through all but the tip and tail of the Prophet 98, magically giving the 98 more edge grip than it's predecessor. With the slimming of the waist the Prophet 98 needed something extra so it would retain great off piste and powder performance. Enter the Early Rise Tip (20cm x2.5mm), giving just enough rocker to help the 98 plane over crud, crust, and powder as well as improving the turn initiation. As a result, the Prophet 98 enjoys a responsive feel usually reserved for much more narrow skis. Advanced through expert skiers will find the Prophet 98 to be every bit of a true all mountain ski as happy on groomers as it is in knee deep powder. Any concerns about going wider than 90mm will be erased after a few turns on the 98.
