Ski Binding Brake Width Guide

Ski Binding Size Guide

Ski binding brake width is determined by your ski’s
waist width, measured in millimeters. As a general
guideline, choose a brake width equal to or up to
15 mm wider than your ski’s waist width, subject
to manufacturer compatibility.

Binding Size (mm) 85 95 110 130
Ski Waist Width (mm) 70–85 80–95 95–110 115–130

85 mm
Ski waist: 70–85 mm
95 mm
Ski waist: 80–95 mm
110 mm
Ski waist: 95–110 mm
130 mm
Ski waist: 115–130 mm

These ranges are general guidelines for the
listed brake sizes. Actual clearance and
compatibility depend on the ski and binding model.

Where do I find my ski waist width?

Look for three measurements on your ski, typically
written as tip / waist / tail. For example,
128/90/115 means the ski is 90 mm wide underfoot.
A 95 mm brake may be appropriate if compatible
with your exact binding and ski.

DIN Setting Guide

DIN refers to the binding’s release-value setting.
The correct setting depends on several factors
and must be determined and verified by a qualified
ski binding technician.

Skier Information

Weight, height, age and skier type
are considered when determining the
appropriate release setting.

Boot Information

Boot sole length, boot sole standard
and compatibility with the binding
must be checked.

Professional Adjustment

A technician must adjust the binding
and verify its release performance
using the actual ski boots.

A skier’s weight alone cannot determine a safe
DIN setting. Do not use a general weight chart
as instructions for adjusting your bindings.

Important Notice

Ski bindings should be mounted, adjusted,
and release-tested by a qualified ski technician.
GetBoards can perform the initial mount using
the boot sole length you provide, but the actual
boots must be used for final fit, adjustment,
and release verification before skiing.
